Meteorologists are warning of a significant weather shift, with two rounds of rain and storms expected to impact the region on Monday.
Two Rounds of Precipitation Expected
The forecast indicates at least two distinct periods of precipitation throughout the day, each with varying intensity and potential hazards. The first wave of rain is predicted to arrive early Monday morning and continue through the lunch hour.
Morning Rain and Isolated Thunderstorms
While the initial rainfall will be general, there is a possibility of isolated thunderstorms. However, the risk of severe weather between approximately 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. is considered low.
Severe Storms Possible Monday Evening
A second, more concerning round of storms is expected to move in from the west after 6 p.m. The severity of these evening storms will depend on how quickly the morning rain clears and the amount of sunshine the region receives during the afternoon.
Greater sunshine and drier conditions would increase the likelihood of severe weather, potentially including large hail, damaging wind gusts, and rotating storms. Heavy rainfall is also anticipated, which could lead to localized flooding, especially in areas with already high water levels.
Staying Prepared and Looking Ahead
Residents are advised to stay vigilant and prepared for sudden weather changes, ensuring they have reliable alert systems in place. The severe weather threat is expected to diminish shortly after 11 p.m. on Monday.
High temperatures are forecasted to reach the 70s, particularly in the southern and southwestern regions. Following the storm, cooler air will move in, with highs in the 60s on Tuesday and the 50s for much of the rest of the week.
A slight chance of showers remains possible on Wednesday, but generally, cooler and drier conditions are expected to prevail through Friday. A gradual warming trend is anticipated as the weekend approaches, though details remain uncertain.
