Torrance Transit has launched a pilot program offering a $4 round-trip bus service from the Mary K. Giordano Regional Transit Center to Dodger Stadium for select games. This initiative aims to provide fans with a more affordable and less stressful transportation option.

Addressing Transportation Challenges

Dodger Stadium is often difficult to reach due to heavy traffic and high parking costs. This new service seeks to alleviate these issues for baseball fans in the South Bay area.

Pilot Program Details

The pilot program is being tested with limited service connecting the Mary K. Giordano Regional Transit Center directly to UNIQLO Field at Dodger Stadium. Torrance Transit is actively seeking rider feedback to evaluate the demand and potentially expand the service in the future.

Initial Dates and Frequency

The initial pilot dates are May 10, May 31, and June 7. Buses will run every 45 minutes, timed to coincide with game schedules.

Service Timing

Buses depart from the Torrance Transit Center 2.5 hours before game time, and the final departure is timed for the first pitch. Post-game buses begin departing after the 7th inning, with the last bus leaving 45 minutes after the final out.

Parking and Payment

Free parking is available at the Regional Transit Center for bus riders, though limited to 250 spaces. The $4 round-trip fare can be paid with exact cash or a Tap card. Tap cards can be purchased and loaded at the transit center or through the TAP mobile app.

Seeking Rider Feedback

The City of Torrance encourages fans to utilize the pilot service and provide feedback. Torrance Transit will use this information to determine the viability of a permanent bus service to Dodger Stadium, promoting public transportation and reducing regional traffic congestion.
