Bose has introduced its Lifestyle Ultra speaker collection, comprising the Ultra Speaker, Ultra Soundbar, and Ultra Subwoofer. This new line is designed to deliver immersive and versatile home audio experiences.

A New Focus for Bose

Bose unveiled the new Lifestyle speaker collection at a multi-story demonstration event held in New York City’s Upper West Side. The launch event, featuring ascending audio and a staircase, signifies a shift for the company, traditionally known for its noise-canceling technology.

Lifestyle Ultra Speaker Details

The Lifestyle Ultra Speaker, priced between $299 and $349 depending on the finish (Black/White Smoke or limited-edition Driftwood Sand), is a versatile unit. It can function as a standalone speaker, a stereo pair, part of a whole-home system, or as rear speakers in a surround-sound setup.

Key Features of the Ultra Speaker

  • Utilizes a Direct/Reflecting array and TrueSpatial digital signal processing for an expansive soundstage.
  • Features CleanBass technology with a QuietPort treatment for deep bass response.
  • Lifestyle Ultra Soundbar and Subwoofer

The Lifestyle Ultra Soundbar ($1,099 in Black/White Smoke) features a 5.0.2 configuration with four full-range drivers, two upward-firing drivers, a center tweeter, and PhaseGuide radiators. These radiators create a wider soundstage without additional drivers.

    Soundbar Features

    • Includes Speech Clarity, an AI-powered feature that enhances dialogue clarity.
    • For deeper bass, the Lifestyle Ultra Subwoofer ($899 in Black/White Smoke) features a 10.5-inch woofer.

      System Configurations and Connectivity

Combining the Ultra Soundbar, Ultra Speakers, and Subwoofer creates a 7.1.4 system. A 5.1.2 setup is possible with just the Soundbar and Subwoofer.

      Connectivity and Calibration

      • The system utilizes Custom Tune, an updated version of ADAPTiQ, for room calibration using a smartphone’s microphone.
      • Supports AirPlay 2 and Google Cast for multi-room audio.
      • Offers Spotify Connect (with TIDAL Connect planned) and controls via the Bose app and on-product touchpoints.
      • Includes Bluetooth 5.3 and a 3.5mm analog input.
      • Features next-gen Alexa+ support and a physical mute button.
      • The Lifestyle Ultra collection is not compatible with previous Bose home-theater products. Preorders are open now, with shipping beginning on May 15th.
