Student-athletes from Brigham Young University, Southern Utah University, and Utah State University demonstrated remarkable unity by delivering 20,000 pounds of protein to the Utah Food Bank in Salt Lake City this past Friday.

Collaborative Effort for Food Security

The event involved a collaborative effort to unload a substantial donation of high-quality pork, aimed at bolstering food security throughout Utah. Athletes formed an efficient human chain, quickly moving boxes from delivery trucks into the warehouse.

Rapid Unloading and Impact

In less than ten minutes, the entire 20,000-pound shipment was organized, showcasing the power of collective effort. This donation will provide more than 100,000 individual servings for families facing food insecurity.

Annual Partnership Since 2019

This annual initiative, established in 2019, is a partnership between the Utah Pork Producers Association and Daily’s Premium Meats. It highlights the private sector’s commitment to supporting local non-profit organizations.

Athlete Perspectives

Lincoln Tuioti-Mariner, representing Southern Utah University, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to contribute. Legend Glasker, a BYU freshman, emphasized the importance of empathy and kindness.
