TSN will provide live coverage of Canada Soccer's Women's National Team (CANWNT) at the FIFA Series 2026. This partnership aims to increase the visibility of Canadian soccer and bring the National Teams to a wider audience. The CANWNT will face Zambia, Korea Republic, and Brazil in the tournament, with matches available on both TSN and OneSoccer.

Expanding Access to Canadian Soccer

Canada Soccer and Canadian Soccer Media & Entertainment (CSME) announced the continuation of their partnership with TSN for live coverage of the CANWNT. This collaboration is a key part of a broader effort to broaden the reach of Canadian soccer and connect fans with the National Teams. This marks the second TSN broadcast for the CANWNT in 2026, following their participation in the SheBelieves Cup in March.

The FIFA Series 2026 will see Canada compete against Zambia (ranked 66th), Korea Republic (ranked 19th), and host nation Brazil (ranked 8th). All matches will be held at Arena Pantanal in Cuiabá, Brazil.

Team Preparation and Broadcast Team

Head coach Casey Stoney emphasized the tournament’s importance in building team identity and preparing for FIFA World Cup qualifying later this year. The increased broadcast coverage is seen as crucial for connecting with Canadian fans.

The TSN broadcasting team will include Kate McKenna, Amy Walsh (a former Canada Soccer Women’s National Team player), Jordan Wilson (a former Canadian Premier League defender), Adam Jenkins, and Jessica Lisi.

A Global Initiative

The FIFA Series is a global initiative involving 50 nations across 13 groups, hosted in 12 countries. A unique element of the tournament is that matches ending in a draw will go directly to a penalty shootout, eliminating extra time. This partnership between Canada Soccer, CSME, and TSN aims to foster the growth of the sport nationwide and prepare the team for future competitions, including the FIFA Women’s World Cup Brazil 2027 and the LA28 Olympic Games.

James Johnson, Group CEO of CSME, highlighted the importance of a robust distribution model to ensure fans can connect with the teams throughout the year.
