The Baltimore Ravens have added two quarterbacks to their roster, inviting Diego Pavia to their rookie minicamp and signing Joe Fagnano to a three-year contract. These moves add competition to a quarterback room already led by Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley.
Rookie Minicamp Invite for Diego Pavia
Diego Pavia received an invitation to the Ravens’ rookie minicamp on Sunday night. The team quickly followed up by adding him to their group of undrafted free agents and minicamp invitees, alongside their 11-player draft class.
Minicamp Details
The Ravens will hold a three-day rookie minicamp from May 1st to 3rd at their Owings Mills, Maryland facilities. This session will prepare players for the offseason program, veteran minicamp, and ultimately, training camp.
Joe Fagnano Signs Three-Year Deal
Alongside Pavia’s invitation, the Ravens have signed Joe Fagnano, a quarterback from UConn, to a three-year contract. Fagnano brings seven seasons of collegiate experience to the team.
Competition in the Quarterback Room
Pavia’s collegiate stats at SEC are impressive, with 3,539 passing yards, a 70.6% completion rate, 29 touchdowns, and a 170.4 passer rating. He also rushed for 862 yards and 10 touchdowns. He will compete with Fagnano, who recorded 3,448 passing yards, 28 touchdowns, and a 69.0% completion rate in 2025.
Lamar Jackson, a two-time NFL MVP, and Tyler Huntley, a veteran who has started 11 games for the Ravens, currently lead the quarterback room. Jackson has been actively participating in the team’s voluntary offseason program under new head coach Jesse Minter.
Potential Role for Pavia
While the Ravens typically carry only two quarterbacks on their 53-man roster, Pavia’s skillset could offer a unique role. Discussions have begun regarding his potential as a dual-threat contributor, drawing comparisons to Taysom Hill. Pavia expressed his willingness to contribute in any way possible, stating, “As long as we’re winning, I’ll do whatever it takes.”
Pavia’s downhill running style could potentially reduce the workload on Lamar Jackson, who missed four games in 2025 and had career lows in rushing statistics. The spring and summer will be crucial for both Pavia and Fagnano as they compete for a roster spot with the Ravens.
