Twenty-two amateur boxers from the Philadelphia area are preparing to compete in the Liberty Bell Brawl at The Fillmore on April 15th, all in support of cancer research and patient care.

Haymakers for Hope Event

The event, organized by Haymakers for Hope, will feature three-round bouts as the boxers compete and fundraise for Alex's Lemonade Stand and other cancer-related charities. Participants have been training intensely for months, each aiming to raise $10,000.

Boxer Profiles

Erica Spadaccini, a fitness trainer from Center City Philadelphia, is eager to test herself in the ring. She, like many participants, has a personal connection to the cause. “I’m excited for the opportunity to grow physically and mentally while contributing to such a crucial fight,” Spadaccini stated.

Becky Goodling, a video producer from South Philadelphia, also expressed her enthusiasm for the challenge. She highlighted the opportunity to push her boundaries and explore her capabilities.

Training and Fundraising

The Front Street Gym in Kensington has served as a key training ground for many of the boxers. Emily Coyle, a writer and baker, shared how the experience has been transformative, moving from a creative field to the demanding world of boxing.

Each boxer is committed to raising $10,000, and all proceeds will be donated to Alex's Lemonade Stand and other cancer charities. This collaborative effort demonstrates the power of community in supporting a vital cause.

More Than Just a Fight

The Liberty Bell Brawl is more than just a boxing match; it’s a platform for amateur boxers to showcase their courage, determination, and dedication to fighting cancer. The event aims to raise both funds and awareness for cancer research and support services.

Organizers encourage attendance and support for the boxers and their fundraising goals. Further information and tickets are available online.
