Minnesota Wild Secure 5-1 Victory Over Colorado Avalanche

The Minnesota Wild handed the Colorado Avalanche their first loss of the postseason with a 5-1 victory in Game 3 of their second-round NHL playoff series on Saturday night. The game was held in St. Paul, Minn.

In the second period, Ryan Hartman scored by batting in a deflected power-play shot with 4:23 elapsed. This goal prompted an early departure for Avalanche goaltender Scott Wedgewood, who was replaced by Mackenzie Blackwood.

Nathan MacKinnon scored a power-play goal for the Avalanche later in the second period. However, Brock Faber responded just 20 seconds later by deflecting a puck past Blackwood.

Wallstedt’s Return and Series Context
