Arapahoe Basin Ski Area in Colorado has announced it will extend its ski season to May 10th, making it the final ski resort in the state to close for the winter.

Season Extension Details

The extension is a result of 14 inches of fresh snowfall received over the past week. This provides skiers and snowboarders with a last chance to enjoy the slopes. A-Basin, as the resort is affectionately known, initially planned to close on May 3rd.

Limited Operations

During the extended season, A-Basin will operate on a limited schedule. The resort will be closed Monday through Thursday each week. Lifts will reopen for skiers and snowboarders on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Affordable Access

Lift tickets will be available for $39 during the extended period. Holders of an Ikon Pass or an A-Basin pass for the 2024-2025 season will receive complimentary access. This provides added value for season pass holders.

Comparison to Other Resorts

Copper Mountain is also extending its season, but to a lesser extent, closing on May 3rd after a one-week extension. A-Basin’s extended season is more than a month later than last year’s closing date, highlighting the differences in snowfall this year.

Terrain Availability

Currently, terrain available at A-Basin is geared towards intermediate and advanced skiers and snowboarders. No beginner terrain is open at this time. Black Mountain Express and Lenawee Express lifts will be operating during the extended closing weekend.

A-Basin’s decision demonstrates its commitment to providing a memorable experience for its patrons. The resort’s proactive approach to maximizing available snowpack reinforces its reputation as a beloved destination.
