Alabama is reinforcing its commitment to survivors of sexual assault and related crimes through the distribution of over $144,000 in grant funding to organizations statewide.

Strengthening Support Networks

These grants are designed to bolster the capacity of local non-profits to deliver essential services. This includes direct support to victims, specialized training for professionals, and resources for legal investigation and prosecution.

Montgomery Organization Receives Largest Grant

An $80,000 grant has been awarded to a Montgomery-based organization focused on combating sexual assault, child abuse, human trafficking, stalking, and harassment. The funding will expand training programs for advocates, medical personnel, and first responders.

A significant portion of the grant will also provide direct services to individuals impacted by these crimes throughout Alabama, including counseling, crisis intervention, and legal advocacy.

Regional Hotline and Case Management

A $32,110 grant will support a 24-hour hotline and case management services for victims of sexual assault and other crimes in Autauga, Butler, Crenshaw, Dallas, Elmore, Lowndes, Montgomery, Perry, and Wilcox counties.

This funding ensures continued operation of a critical lifeline, offering immediate support, information, and referrals to essential resources. Case management will provide individualized assistance navigating legal, medical, and emotional challenges.
