The University of Maryland School of Medicine is actively recruiting highly qualified researchers for tenure-track Assistant to Associate Professor positions within the University of Maryland Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center (UMGCCC).

Qualifications and Experience

Successful candidates will hold a doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) and possess a minimum of four years of relevant faculty-level experience. Preference will be given to applicants with a strong record of securing research funding, though all qualified individuals are encouraged to apply.

Areas of Focus

UMD is seeking expertise in several key areas of cancer research:

  • Cancer Immunology & Immunoengineering: Focusing on immunology and inflammation in cancer development and therapy, particularly solid tumor immunotherapy.
  • Cancer Biology: Including cancer genomics, epigenetics, bioinformatics, tumor microenvironment, metastasis, and therapeutic target identification.
  • Cancer Epidemiology: Specializing in cancer disparities and integrative population data science, with a focus on causal inference and observational research.
  • The epidemiology position will focus on statistical epidemiology, cancer predisposition, social determinants of cancer disparities, and integrating diverse data sources like cohort studies and electronic health records.

    Collaboration and Compensation

    Selected candidates will collaborate with researchers within the Cancer Therapeutics (CT) program and other UMGCCC programs. Active participation in the Translational Working Group is expected.

    The salary range for these positions is $125,000 to $184,500, based on faculty rank and experience. Total compensation may also include variable compensation programs.
