First Lady Melania Trump made a stylish appearance in a buttercream-yellow Adam Lippes suit as she and President Donald Trump welcomed King Charles III and Queen Camilla to the White House.
Royal Visit Amid Security Concerns
The visit marks the 250th anniversary of American independence and comes just days after a security breach at the White House Correspondents' Dinner, leading to adjustments in the royal itinerary.
A Fashion Statement
Melania Trump exuded elegance in a buttercream-yellow skirt suit, a double-breasted design with large round buttons and a crisp collar. The outfit, by Adam Lippes, is similar to the brand’s Malone Jacket, typically priced at $3,290.
She completed her look with python-patterned Manolo Blahnik heels, costing over $1,000, and her signature long, flowing hair with neutral makeup. President Trump wore a classic navy blue suit alongside her.
Royal Arrival and Protocol
Queen Camilla complemented the occasion in a white chiffon dress with black beaded detailing by Anna Valentine. She accessorized with a brooch featuring both the US flag and the Union Jack, originally gifted to Queen Elizabeth II in 1957.
The royal couple arrived on Monday afternoon. Following their arrival, the group enjoyed tea in the Green Room and toured the White House Beehive.
Planned Events and Recent Security Incident
Over the next few days, King Charles and Queen Camilla will participate in multiple meetings, including a bilateral discussion with President Trump. A State Arrival Ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday on the South Lawn, followed by remarks from the President.
The visit proceeds despite heightened security measures following the arrest of Cole Tomas Allen, 31, who attempted to target Trump administration officials at the White House Correspondents' Dinner with a shotgun, handgun, and knives. A Secret Service agent was injured but is expected to recover.
President Trump addressed the nation, stating, “When you’re impactful, they go after you. They seem to think he was a lone wolf. We’re not going to let anybody take over our society.” The White House plans to reschedule the dinner within 30 days.
