Anglers and outdoor enthusiasts are celebrating the reopening of Bob Hall Pier at Padre Balli County Park on Padre Island, near Corpus Christi, on February 24th. The pier, a popular fishing destination since 1950, sustained significant damage from Hurricane Hanna in 2020.
Pier Restoration and Future Improvements
Extensive rebuilding efforts have restored the pier to its former glory. Originally 300 feet long and constructed of wood, the pier was later doubled in size. While currently accessible, visitors should be aware that the road leading to the pier presents challenges due to soft sand and tidal pools.
Further improvements are planned, including a new restaurant, concession stand, and parking lot, all expected to be completed by late summer to enhance the visitor experience.
