Rockstar Games has introduced a new seasonal event for Red Dead Online this September. The update centers on the moonshining trade, offering players various free items and boosted mission rewards .
Triple rewards for Moonshiner Story Missions and Free Roam
The September event for Red Dead Online focuses heavily on the moonshining industry, providing significant boosts to player progression. According to the report, players can earn triple rewards—including 3X RDO$, Role XP, and general XP—for Moonshiner Story Missions and Free Roam Missions throughout the month. The Featured Series is also included in this triple-reward tier; it is currently set in Lemoyne but will transition to Hardcore Last Stand on September 14.
Free gear from the 'This Guy' emote to the tan Porter Jacket
A variety of free cosmetic and functional items are available to players through specific gameplay milestones this month.. The report notes that the "This Guy" emote is available via a Moonshiner weekly reward until September 14, at which point it will be replaced by the Black Woodland Gloves.. Additionally, winning the Featured Series will grant players the tan Porter Jacket, while those who complete any three Daily Challenges can claim the black and red Carbow Double Bandolier.
Level 50 Gunslingers and the Wheeler, Rawson & Co. outfit
Rockstar Games is also offering rewards for both casual engagement and high-level achievement. Players can grab a community-themed outfit via the Wheeler, Rawson & Co. Catalogue, with the offer lasting until October 5. Even casual participation is being rewarded, as players can earn Emerald Ranch and Falls Moonshiner Bar Photographs just for playing this month. For veteran players, Level 50 Gunslingers can secure the Zapatero Outfit and the Golden Spirit Buckle as a reward for their continued partcipation.
The shadow of GTA VI over the Red Dead IP
The continued support of Red Dead Online arrives at a time when the franchise's long-term direction is uncertain. while Rockstar Games has remained diligent in providing updates for the multiplayer mode, the lack of single-player DLC remains a notable gap in the experience. As the studio's primary focus shifts toward the development of GTA VI, the future of the Red Dead universe remains a subject of debate.
This leaves several critical questions for the community. Will Rockstar Games eventually release single-player expansions for Red Dead Redemption 2, or has the focus shifted permanently to multiplayer and future titles? Furthermore, given that the original story was designed as a two-part narrative, is there any realistic chance of a third game, or are these seasonal events the final chapter of the franchise?
