Former One Direction star Zayn Malik has cancelled a significant portion of his upcoming tour following a recent hospitalisation. The cancellation comes amidst reports of a physical altercation with Louis Tomlinson during the filming of a Netflix documentary and a request from his family to redirect fan support to a charitable cause.

Tour Dates Significantly Reduced

Zayn Malik, 33, has significantly scaled back his upcoming tour following a recent hospitalisation due to an undisclosed illness. Originally planned as a 31-date solo tour across the US, UK, South America, and Mexico, the tour has now been reduced to just nine shows after Zayn required hospital treatment last month.

Revised Schedule and Fan Message

The tour was initially scheduled to begin on May 12th in Manchester, with performances planned in Glasgow, Birmingham, and London. The revised schedule now starts in London, followed by a rescheduled Manchester show. Zayn expressed his gratitude for the support he’s received for his new album and his health on Instagram Stories.

He assured fans he is recovering at home and is determined to return stronger. He emphasized his desire to connect with as many fans as possible and looks forward to performing the remaining shows.

International Dates and Past Cancellations

While dates in Glasgow and Dublin have been cancelled, performances in Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Peru, and Brazil will proceed as planned. This cancellation follows previous instances where Zayn cancelled live dates due to struggles with ‘extreme anxiety’, highlighting ongoing challenges with maintaining a demanding performance schedule.

Reports of Altercation with Louis Tomlinson

Prior to his hospitalisation, reports surfaced alleging a physical altercation between Zayn and former One Direction bandmate Louis Tomlinson during the filming of a Netflix documentary. The documentary, which involved a multi-million-pound deal for Zayn and Louis to revisit their time in the band, has reportedly been scrapped.

Sources claim Zayn allegedly punched Louis, resulting in a concussion and medical attention for Tomlinson. The pair have reportedly been estranged since the incident six months ago, with Louis unfollowing Zayn on Instagram.

Family's Charitable Request

Zayn’s family has requested fans redirect their gestures of support from sending flowers to donating to The Palestine Project, a charity they support. They expressed gratitude for the outpouring of love but explained the logistical challenges of managing the overwhelming number of floral arrangements received during Ramadan.

The Hidden Bouquet, the florist, has also issued a statement supporting the family’s request and providing a link to the charity donation page.
