The Eldest has hijacked the Hulk's body to terrorize Manhattan. This entity's arrival in the debut of Infernal Hulk Vs Fantastic Four has left the city's heroes in ruins.
The Eldest's consumption of the Mother of Horrors
The primary antagonist of this new series is a terrifying entity known as the Eldest. According to the report, this creature is the firstborn of the Mother of Horrors and has become an unstoppable force on Earth. Rather than mourning the loss of its progenitor, the Eldest chose to consume the Mother of Horrors to augment its own power.
The Eldest's rise to power marks a significant escalation in the stakes for the Marvel Universe. By absorbing the Mother of Horrors, the entity has transitioned from a mere monster into a cosmic-level threat capable of challenging the very foundations of Earth's superhero community. This shift toward cosmic horror follows the trajectory set by Phillip Kennedy Johnson during his tenure on The Incredible Hulk, moving from localized monster attacks to an existential threat that has already seen the defeat of Iron Man, Wolverine, and the X-Men.
The failure of Reed Richards' Immaculate Engine
In an attempt to neutralize the growing monster army, Reed Richards developed a device known as the Immaculate Engine. as the source describes, this invention was centered around a tree created from the blood of the One Above All. Richards hoped this blend of science and divine essence could provide a cure for the Eldest's corrupted spawn.
However, the technological solution proved insufficient against the Eldest's raw power. During the battle at the Baxter Building, the Infernal Hulk successfully cut the power , preventing the engine from completing its work and leaving the Fantastic Four vulnerable to the creature's influence. This failure highlights the limits of scientific ingenuity when faced with primordial, magical foces.
The gruesome transformations of the Fantastic Four
The Eldest did not merely defeat the Fantastic Four;it fundamentally corrupted their physical forms. Ben Grimm was transformed from his iconic orange state to a heavy, immobile grey. Johnny Storm was consumed by a literal wall of the dead that had been built within Manhattan, while Sue Storm suffered a horrific mutilation when her arm was turned into an invisible snake. The sheer brutality of these transformations underscores the Eldest's intent to not just kill, but to reshape the world in its own blood-curdling image.
Reed Richards faced perhaps the most surreal fate, as the report notes he was turned into a watery goo in the streets of Manhattan. While these heroes are not confirmed dead, their current states suggest they have been repurposed into part of the Eldest's growing army of horrors, creating a psychological horror that extends beyond physical combat.
Will Spider-Man or his inner circle be the next targets?
With the Fantastic Four incapacitated, the Eldest appears to be following a pattern of systematically dismantling Earth's most powerful protectors. This raises significant questions about the safety of Spider-Man, who is widely considered the next potential victim in this cycle of corruption. The Eldest possesses the ability to draw out the more primal, spider-like instincts of Peter Parker, potentially turning him into a demon-like pawn.
There are also several unverified possibilities regarding who the Eldest might target if Spider-Man proves too difficult to break. The entity could pivot to animal-totem users like the Scorpion, Rhino, or Vulture, or it could strike at Peter Parker's personal life by targeting Mary Jane Watson or Black Cat. Such a move would likely trigger a massive escalation, forcing the remaining Avengers and heroes to face a Hellish army they may be unable to stop.
