Fisher’s daughters, Daisy and Emily, both actresses, described their mother’s passing as “immensely shocking.” They praised her “extraordinary, kind and talented” spirit and acknowledged the significant impact she had on many lives.

Sarah Fisher dedicated her life to animal welfare, operating an animal sanctuary for rescued horses, ponies, and donkeys. She also worked as a specialist dog behaviourist while supporting her husband’s acting career.

The origins of the sanctuary are deeply rooted in a personal tragedy. It was established in memory of Cynthia Lund and her daughter, Erin, who tragically lost her battle with cancer at the age of three in 1994.

A Lasting Bond and Generous Legacy

Cynthia Lund never fully recovered from Erin’s death and tragically died in a horse-riding accident in France four years later. Anthony and Sarah Head provided unwavering support to Cynthia and Erin, even relocating to Somerset during Erin’s brief remission.

Remarkably, Cynthia changed her will in 1996, leaving her entire estate to Sarah, recognizing their deep connection and entrusting her with a shared dream.

Tilley Farm: A Haven for Animals

Following Cynthia’s death, Sarah and Anthony purchased Tilley Farm in 2001, transforming it into a thriving equine sanctuary and a haven for wildlife. The property, now valued at millions, became the home of Sarah’s Animal Centred Education (ACE) programme, offering courses on animal wellbeing.

Fisher also served as an ambassador and fosterer for Battersea Dogs and Cats Home and was a patron of numerous animal charities.
