Digga D Sparks Outrage with Public Support
Drill rapper Digga D has drawn significant condemnation after expressing support for Perry Allen-Thomas, who was convicted of murdering Michelle Sadio outside a London church. This incident has raised concerns about the rapper’s influence and his past association with violent content.
Details of the Tragic Shooting
Rhys Herbert, known professionally as Digga D, voiced his support for Allen-Thomas following the verdict on Tuesday. The murder of 44-year-old Ms. Sadio occurred on December 14, 2024, outside the River of Life Pentecostal Church in Willesden, London.
Wake Turned Violent
The shooting took place during a wake for 80-year-old Dianne Boatong, attended by around 100 people, including children. A stolen black Kia pulled up and shots were fired, resulting in Ms. Sadio’s death at the scene.
Other Victims and the Intended Target
Two other individuals, Kenneth Amoah and Kadeem Francis, were also injured in the shooting. Amoah suffered paralysis below the waist. Authorities believe the intended target of the attack was rapper Trapstar Toxic.
Convictions and Digga D’s Response
Following the Old Bailey trial, Perry Allen-Thomas and Amir Salem were both convicted of murder and two counts of attempted murder. Digga D responded by posting a Snapchat story featuring a picture of Allen-Thomas with broken heart emojis and messages stating “f***ed up system” and “3 my darg.”
Public Condemnation and Past Controversies
The post quickly went viral, prompting widespread outrage. Critics have labeled Digga D’s comments as insensitive and supportive of violence. This is not an isolated incident, as Digga D has a history of controversial behavior and legal issues.
History of Legal Troubles
Digga D has previous convictions for gang-related crime and drug offenses and has been described as ‘London’s most hated rapper’ due to his provocative lyrics and videos. He reportedly earned up to £3 million from his music career before his recent imprisonment.
Investigation Details
The investigation revealed a carefully planned attack. Allen-Thomas is believed to have orchestrated the shooting while establishing an alibi. The stolen Kia was equipped with false plates and was set on fire after the incident. Salem purchased the petrol used to destroy the vehicle. The firearm used had been linked to previous shootings, identified as a ‘gang gun.’
