According to Olsen, during a trip to Northern California, Arnett became fixated on having a cheese board, which seemed unusual to her as he had never been particularly enthusiastic about them before.
Little did she know, his insistence was part of his grand plan to propose.

He was like, 'It's embarrassing if I had to ask someone to get a fire.'

Thirty minutes later, he proposed, but not before trying to start a fire on a wood dock, which resulted in a comical moment when he kneeled on the hard surface and quickly stood back up, exclaiming, 'Ow, this really hurts.
Despite the minor mishap, Olsen described the proposal as 'just so lovely' because it was a genuine reflection of Arnett's personality.
