Alan Cumming, the 61-year-old star of The Traitors US, has publicly criticized the recent racial slur scandal at the BAFTAs. He characterized the situation as the result of "bad, bad, bad leadership" and expressed that he was "p***ed off."

The Incident at the BAFTAs

During the February awards ceremony, John Davidson, 54, involuntarily shouted the N-word while actors Michael B. Jordan and Delroy Lindo were on stage presenting an award. Davidson, who has severe Tourette's syndrome, was attending the event to support the film I Swear, which details his life and his diagnosis.

While Cumming had issued a warning about potential tics, the extremity of the language was not emphasized. Additionally, Cumming noted that he did not hear the slur himself because he was wearing an earpiece.

Criticism of the BBC and Leadership

The scandal intensified when the BBC failed to remove the slur from the broadcast. The clip remained available online for more than 12 hours, leading to further controversy.

Cumming lamented how "poor John" struggled with the scrutiny caused by the poorly handled situation. He blamed the mismanagement on "bad people who weren't doing their jobs properly," stating they had not prepared and let people down.

Cumming Vows to Never Host Again

In an interview with The Times, the actor made it clear that he would never host the show again. He remains critical of the lack of preparation and the leadership failures that led to the incident.
