Empowering Future Entrepreneurs

Sault College recently hosted its 2nd Annual Big Case High School Business Competition, a full-day experiential learning event. The competition provided local high school students with a platform to demonstrate their talent, teamwork, and entrepreneurial thinking.

During the event, students participated in a signature case competition stream. Teams were tasked with analyzing real-world business cases, crafting creative solutions, and presenting their final recommendations to a panel of judges.

Developing Essential Business Skills

The competition was designed to strengthen several key professional competencies. Participants worked on honing their skills in:

  • Critical thinking
  • Communication
  • Leadership
  • Problem-solving

Sponsorship and Recognition

Top-performing teams were honored with trophies, cash prizes, and scholarships. These awards were made possible through the generous support of various sponsors.

Sault College expressed its gratitude to the title sponsor, Sault North Rotary. The college also thanked returning sponsors BDO, Stefanizzi Professional Group, and RPA Canada, as well as new sponsor Praxar.

Additionally, the college recognized local high school business teachers. Their ongoing support was vital in preparing students and facilitating their participation in the competition.

A Collaborative Campus Effort

The event also highlighted internal collaboration within Sault College. Campus resources were used to produce trophies and plaques, while the Culinary staff provided refreshments for all participants.

By participating, students gained firsthand experience with the hands-on business learning offered at Sault College. The event also served to introduce them to various business career pathways available in their local area.
