Cambrian College will open its doors to prospective students and their families on April 11th for its annual Spring Open House. The event, taking place from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Barry Downe campus in Sudbury, provides a comprehensive look at college life.
Exploring Programs and Facilities
Attendees will have the opportunity to explore Cambrian’s diverse academic programs and tour its state-of-the-art facilities. They can also interact with faculty and current students, gaining insights into potential career paths and hands-on learning experiences.
Engaging Activities and Prizes
The Open House will feature a variety of engaging activities, including a business trivia challenge, a chemistry escape room, a fitness challenge, and a Civil Engineering headframe building competition. Portfolio reviews will also be available for students interested in animation.
Exciting prizes are up for grabs, including free food, a $1,000 scholarship, and a grand prize of $10,000 towards tuition and fees. The grand prize contest is open to eligible Canadian citizens and landed immigrants enrolling in a full-time program starting September 2026.
Financial Aid and Support
Recognizing the importance of affordability, Cambrian will host presentations on financing a college education. Staff will explain the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) application process and highlight available scholarships, bursaries, and on-campus employment opportunities.
Gas Card Assistance
For attendees traveling from outside the Greater Sudbury area, Cambrian College will offer $50 gas cards to eligible visitors. Registration for the gas card is required by April 6th.
Application Fee Waiver
An application station will be available at the Open House, allowing prospective students to apply for admission with the application fee waived.
Renee Scott, Director of Marketing, Recruitment, and Student Success at Cambrian, stated in a press release that the Spring Open House is “an exciting opportunity for prospective students to get a first-hand experience of the college environment” and to aid in making informed decisions about their future.
