XRP is currently navigating a precarious technical landscape as it tests a vital support zone near $1.35. While the token's technical structure remains within a defensive band, a significant drop in on-chain activity has raised concerns regarding its near-term trajectory.
The struggle to reclaim the $1.50 resistance level
The token's recent market performance has been characterized by a series of lower local highs, preventing the asset from reclaiming the $1.45 to $1.50 range. This pattern suggests that sellers are maintaining control over the near-term price structure. As the reoprt notes, the rally that previously pushed the token above $1.50 has failed to establish a durable recovery.
Momentum indicators are also signaling a shift toward neutrality. The daily Relative Strength Index (RSI) sits at approximately 51.7, which is notably below its signal average of 58.2. This positioning leaves XRP in a state where it is neither oversold nor supported by significant buying pressure, increasing the risk of a downward move if support levels fail.
A 42% plunge in active XRP users
On-chain metrics reveal a significant cooling in network usage, with successful XRP Ledger transactions falling by 59.5% to roughly 970,200. Total transactions also saw a substantial decrease of 55.6%, dropping to approximately 1.2 million. this contraction in activity suggests that while the price remains relatively stable, the actual utility driving the network is waning.
User participation has seen an even more dramatic contraction. according to the report, active users fell by 42.3% to a total of 126,200, while active accounts decreased by 5.4% to 13,900. Interestingly, new account creation remained largely stagnant at about 2,200, suggesting that the decline is rooted in existing users pulling back rather than a failure to attract new participants.
The $1.33 to $1.36 defensive corridor
Traders are currently focused on a defensive band between $1.33 and $1.36 to determine XRP's next move. The long-term moving average sits near $1.355, while a shorter-term average of $1.34 provides an additional layer of support. Maintaining this zone is critical for limiting immediate downside risk.
If the price breaks below the $1.33 threshold, the path toward $1.28 and the moving-average cluster between $1.25 and $1.28 could open. Conversely, a move above $1.45 is required to rebuild a bullish short-term structure.
The gap between 3.84-second ledger intervals and falling user counts
Despite the drop in transaction volume, the XRP Ledger itself appears to be functioning with high technical efficiency. The ledger interval has remained steady at approximately 3.84 seconds, and the number of closed ledgers actually rose by 1.2% to about 20,600.. This indicates that the underlying infrastructure is not the source of the current market weakness.
This divergence raises a critical question: is the current price stability merely a temporary lull, or does the lack of user engagement signal a deeper fundamental issue? While the network remains reliable, the decline in active users and transactions leaves it unclear whether the current support levels can hold without a surge in actual network utility.
