According to the report, video footage captured by a local resident shows a man—described as 6ft tall and wearing a beige baseball cap, grey jumper, and dark shorts—running toward a white Renault Trafic van as the officers pursued him.
As the officers attempted to open the driver's side door to apprehend the suspect, the man reversed the van directly over them. the officers, aged 41 and 43, were left lying on the ground as nearby residents rushed to provide assistance. Both victims were transported to the hospital with serious injuries following the collision.

The suspect managed to flee the scene immediately after the attack, but the vehicle was later located by authorities.. As the report says, the white Renault Trafic van was recovered in Kirkstyle Place in Glassford, though the driver was no longer present.
