Incident Details

On Wednesday evening, at approximately 9:10 p.m., Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officers responded to a report of a burglary in progress on the 12200 block of Beaufait Avenue. One of the suspects allegedly attempted to force open the back door of a residence.

Suspects Apprehended

The attempted break-in was interrupted when a dog inside the home began barking, causing the suspects to flee. Officers arrived and, after speaking with the homeowner who confirmed no entry was made and nothing was stolen, initiated a search of the area.

Utilizing an LAPD helicopter with infrared scanners, officers located both suspects—identified as teenagers—hiding nearby. They were taken into custody and will face charges of trespassing and attempted burglary. Discarded clothing believed to belong to the suspects was recovered during the search.
