The attack happened around 9:10 p.m. on April 7th, in front of 230 Fifth Avenue. The victim was walking when an unidentified suspect approached him and inflicted a slash wound to his right thigh with a sharp object. The assailant did not attempt to steal any belongings and fled the scene immediately, heading south on Fifth Avenue.

Law enforcement sources have confirmed the assault was unprovoked, with no prior interaction between the victim and the attacker. The victim self-transported to NYU Langone Tisch Hospital for treatment and was stabilized.
