Two deaths in East Oakland earlier this month have been linked to a dispute that began at the popular First Fridays street festival. Authorities have charged three individuals with murder and related offenses.

Initial Shooting on Foothill Boulevard

The series of violent events unfolded on April 18th, at approximately 8:08 p.m., in the 6400 block of Foothill Boulevard. Davione Sharp, 19, is identified as the primary suspect in the initial shooting, accused of deliberately targeting and killing Derrick Hubbard, 42.

Details of the First Attack

According to court documents, Sharp, along with Isaanae Morton, 24, approached a group including Hubbard and opened fire, inflicting multiple gunshot wounds. Hubbard tragically died at the scene.

Investigators believe Hubbard’s associates quickly sought retribution for the attack. Within minutes, a BMW sedan driven by Michael Baxter, 42, reportedly approached Sharp and Morton.
