The 4:20 a.m. emrgency on Daylily Drive

Northlake police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1200 block of Daylily Drive shortly after 4:20 a.m. on October 6. The emergency call was routed through the Denton County Sheriff's Office communications center, reporting that a woman was armed with a knife and had attacked her husband.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers detained Flores and conducted a protective sweep of the home to ensure no other threats remained. During this sweep, police discovered that two young children had also sustained stab wounds. According to the Northlake Police Department, the victims were immediately transported to a hospital in Fort Worth for emergency medical intervention.

A $2 million bond for two attempted capital murder counts

A magistrate has ordered Holly Leeann Flores to be held on a combined $2 million surety bond. This significant financial requirement follows her arrest on two counts of attempted capital murder, specifically involving children under the age of 10.

The legal weight of these charges is substantial within the Texas penal code. In addition to the attempted capital murder counts, Flores faces one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon . As of Thursday, the Northlake Police Department reported that no bond had been set for the aggravated assault charge, though the two attempted capital murder charges each carry a $1 million bond.

The medical status of the 3-year-old and 10-month-old

The victims of the attack, including a 3-year-old girl and a 10-month-old boy, have been released from medical care. The young girl reportedly suffered stab wounds to her chest, while the infant boy also sustained a wound to his chest area.

The husband was also injured during the violent encounter, suffering head wounds as a result of the assault. While all three family members have since been released from the Fort Worth hospital, the physical and emotional trauma of the incident remains a critical component of the ongoing investigation being conducted by Denton County authorities.

The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services' intervention

The two children involved in the stabbing are currently in the care of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services . following their release from the hospital, state authorities took custody of the 3-year-old and 10-month-old to ensure their ongoing safety and well-being.

This intervention is a standard response when children are victims of domestic violence or are residing in a household where a parent is facing felony charges. The children's placement in protective custody is expected to continue as the legal proceedings against Flores progress through the Denton County court system.

The husband's claims regarding postpartum depression

The motive behind the alleged stabbing remains a subject of intense scrutiny as investigators review newly released police documents. The husband has reportedly shared disturbing details regarding the incident, including claims that postpartum depression may have been a factor.

While these claims provide a potential psychological context for the violence, they have not been formally confirmed by the Northlake Police Department. It remains unclear whether the mental health of the suspect was a primary driver of the attack or if other external factors contributed to the early morning violence on Daylily Drive.
