CarbonCure Technologies, a pioneering company in CO₂ utilization for concrete production, has announced the appointment of Yuliya Kravtsov as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Strategic Leadership for Sustainable Growth

This appointment marks a significant step for the Halifax-based firm as it aims to expand its global reach and meet the growing demand for sustainable construction materials. Kravtsov brings over 20 years of executive leadership experience, specializing in the building materials sector.

Extensive Industry Experience

Most recently, Kravtsov served as Head of Integration at CRH, where she oversaw the growth of Sapphire Americas and managed complex post-merger integrations. Prior to CRH, she held senior leadership positions at Lafarge and Holcim, gaining deep insights into cement and concrete production.

Her early career included roles at Boston Consulting Group and Discover Financial, providing a strong foundation in strategic consulting and financial management.

CarbonCure’s Innovative Technology

Kravtsov’s appointment comes as CarbonCure gains traction with its technology that injects captured carbon dioxide into concrete during mixing. This process reduces the carbon footprint of concrete while enhancing its strength and durability.

The technology is a ‘drop-in’ solution, easily integrated into existing concrete plants without major infrastructure changes. CarbonCure’s technology is currently deployed in hundreds of plants, contributing to over 10 million concrete truckloads.

Leadership Vision

“I am proud to lead CarbonCure,” said Kravtsov, highlighting the company’s innovative technology, profitable business model, strong customer relationships, and industry validation.

Board Confidence and Internal Promotion

William Holden, CarbonCure’s Board Chair, expressed strong confidence in Kravtsov’s ability to lead the company’s global expansion. He emphasized her industry expertise, operational excellence, and strategic mindset.

Kristal Kaye, CarbonCure’s Chief Financial Officer, has been promoted to President and CFO, having served as interim CEO for the past year.

Academic Background

Kravtsov holds an MBA from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business and completed executive education at Dartmouth’s Tuck School of Business. Her experience and education position her to address the challenges and opportunities in the concrete industry’s transition to sustainability.
